Friday Devotional:

Psalm 89:1-4, 15-18

I know someone who keeps a gratitude journal. At the start and end of every day, she catalogs her many blessings, making a record of God's steadfast love toward her. She has found that while she is tempted to grumble and complain throughout the day, it is more uplifting to catch God in the act of blessing her. In today's focus text, the psalmist says to God, "I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations" (v.1). My friend's journal proclaims God's goodness to her and will proclaim it to her progeny and theirs.

As a child, I sang the lyrics "Count your blessings, name them one by one...And it will surprise you what the Lord has done!" When I look for blessings, I find them. Likewise, when I am looking for woes, they find me.

Today, I encourage you to take inventory of God's blessings. Try to write them all down. Your hand will grow weary before God's blessings run out, and you will have joy and strength sufficient for your day.

God, let your joy spread around me as I sing your praise. In Christ I pray. Amen.

Zoom Meeting

SERVICE OVER SUMMER PROJECT

Summer is now in full swing, and with it, starts our annual summer project for Our Redeemer. Over the summer, we will be collecting school supplies in order to assemble School Kits for Lutheran World Relief and local students.

Starting NOW, we ask that if you are able to donate one item from the list below, drop it off at the church office. Another option, we are accepting monetary donations, and we'll do the shopping on your behalf. We will be

accepting donations all summer long!

With your help, we hope to assemble at least 120 school bags.

With your help, these bags will go to places like Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, as well as students in our own community!

Items Needed for School Kits:

· One box of 16 or 24 crayons

· Four 70-sheet spiral notebooks of wide or college-ruled paper,

approximately 8"x10 ½"; no loose-leaf paper

· One 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other

· Five black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink); secured together with a

rubber band

Ladies Ensemble:

Women's ensemble rehearsal Sunday, directly after our morning service (@ 11:30 a.m.) I look forward to rehearsing with you!

Quilting and Fellowship

Every Wednesday at 9:00 am

The quilting group "Operation LOVE" at Our Redeemer has been creating quilts for the Lutheran World Relief quilt ministry for many years. About 100 quilts are sent annually to Lutheran World Relief for distribution to those in need around the world.

Operation LOVE meets every Wednesday at 9:00 am in the coffee room. Anyone interested in participating in this ongoing project is encouraged to join the group at any time.

Sewing/quilting experience is not essential since there are many different ways to give assistance as needed.
