This Weeks Sermon: Be Strong & Open
Pastor Dale Erickson
Maybe Jesus was just having a bad day. Perhaps, he was exhausted from all the mission trips and miracles. How else can we explain the rough way that he treats this woman who pleads on behalf of her little daughter?

Join us in welcoming Pastor Dale Erickson!
Updated Mask Policy
In light of recent observance in the rise of COVID cases in our community and our commitment to monitoring the situation, Grace leaders have deemed it important that we update our mask policy and resume requiring all members, no matter their vaccination status, to wear masks while in the building for worship, meetings and all other gathers of 10 or more people. Our goal is to keep everyone safe, maintain a consistent approaching using CDC recommendations and to lay a framework to adapt our policies as the COVID climate evolves.
Update Sunday School Volunteers Needed to Be:
Three More Sunday School Volunteers Needed
We’re looking for three more adults to help with our Sunday School program for our 1st-5th graders. The volunteers are not responsible for teaching the lesson, just making sure the kids stay on task and assist as needed. If we get 3 more volunteers, each person would be responsible for assisting in Sunday School once every 3 weeks. It’s a great way to help with our program, without having to do any planning or prepping outside of Sunday School. If you are interested in helping, contact

On Sunday, September 12th we are working on various projects for God's Work Our Hands. We will begin with a pizza meal and then break off into the various activities.

Backpack Blessing
If your child or grandchild would like a backpack blessing tag for their daycare or school bag, please stop by the table outside of the worship center to pick one up. We look forward to sending our kids back to school with God’s love and support.

An Update From Meg
Dear members of Grace,
It has been a good and needed time here this summer to see family, friends and my home church! The work being done in Nicaragua has been especially important in empowering the people get through some difficult circumstances in this past year, as epidemic and hurricanes hit. We can identify with so much unknown in our lives, but they are so much more vulnerable with basic needs. I am so proud that our villages actively participated in activities that helped them help each other!
They planted crops on borrowed land (from Many with properties they were unable to live on, and bartered food, services, and other needed items they could not purchase.
Thank you for being part of the generous support of Grace Congregation, and dedicated individuals!
I will be preaching on September 16th and 19th to share how these people are empowering themselves with your and Gods support.
Please come to our celebration picnic following the service ( 12:00) at Port Washington lake side park on the upper level, and hear about how your support has brought good news to so many!
THANK YOU! Missionary Meg

Need Help with Basketball Hoop!
Erica needs help putting together a basketball hoop for the Grace Youth. Please email or call the office if you are able to help.
Register Your Child for Sunday School
Rally Sunday, our first day of Sunday School, will be Sunday, September 19. Education Hour runs from 9:15-10:15 each Sunday. Kids entering 3K-5th grade in the fall are eligible to participate in Sunday School. Because none of our Sunday Schoolers can be vaccinated and to follow building protocols, we will be requiring all students to wear a mask during Sunday School at the start of the school year. We will re-evaluate this policy if the situation changes. This year, Sunday School registration will take place online. Register your 3K-5th grader HERE . Information for our 6th-12th graders will be available soon. If you have any questions about Sunday School, please email
Quilters Need: Cotton Sheets
Notice the change in the title? We are so thankful for your past contributions of flannel. You outdid yourself.  We are still in need of cotton and cotton blend in twin flat, double fitted and flat, queen flat and fitted, king flat and fitted. Please no microfiber or polyester. We are working our fingers to the bone for Lutheran World Relief as their supply dwindled because of the pandemic this past year. Because of your help, we may be able to add to our list of needy institutions we contribute our blankets to, such as the Lakota tribe in South Dakota and Family Advocates. Continue checking on Goodwill, St. Vincent DePaul, rummage sales, etc. for those sizes. Monetary contributions are always welcome. We so appreciate your help as does our savings account!
PS: Thank you for your tremendous response to our request. Don’t stop! We continue to use all that you have supplied.
Grafton Habitat Build Update
I have updated the Habitat board in the gathering area with current pictures of our Grafton build. We will continue the siding work for a few more weeks as the extreme heat last month resulted in shorter work days. Some of the build has now been moved indoors as we start installing the mechanicals (heating ducts, electrical, etc.) in the north unit. Helping out with the build or maybe providing lunch, there are many opportunities for our church family to help these two deserving families get into a home of their own. Please contact the appropriate person below if you can help in any way.
