Last month Grace became the first Ace Certified participant in the Tri-Cities! She has been consistently involved in the program since 2013 as a participant, mentor, and fundraiser.
Working through each level diligently, Grace has demonstrated a great understanding of the nine core values and life skills that we strive to instill in our participants.
Her sister, Rachel, recently certified Eagle and began working on her Ace book. The two girls and their mother, Yumi, serve as volunteer coaches each season.
Golf skills is an area that Grace excels. Regularly competing on the local SNEDS Tour, Drive Chip & Putt, and at the High School level, she has invested significant time into improving her technique to become a leader among her peers.
Quoting her High School coach, the Johnson City Press writes:
As for the girls, senior Grace Smith leads the way.
“She has to provide leadership,” Vannoy said of Smith, who has earned two trips to the region in her career. “She always has great length, hitting it really well off the tee. That puts her in position to go low.”
Grace is set to attend ETSU, a member of the class of 2025. We are extremely proud of all that Grace has accomplished, and look forward to seeing what awaits her in the future...
