Growing in Community at Manor Lake

On Sunday, November 1, we were delighted to gather with our neighbors at Manor Lake Assisted Living for our second monthly worship service! Thank you to the Community of Grace members and friends who helped lead worship, shared their voices in song, and offered a warm welcome to residents and staff.

With each visit, we are building relationships and discovering new ways to walk alongside our neighbors with kindness and love. Join us there every first Sunday at 3pm as this community continues to grow!

Whether you’re singing along, listening to someone’s story, or sharing a smile, your presence matters. Small gestures of kindness and gentleness can brighten the day for residents and staff alike.

For All the Saints

Remembering those have gone before us

On Sunday, November 1, we celebrated All Saints Sunday, a special day when we remember and give thanks for the lives of those who have died, trusting in God's promise of resurrection and eternal life.

All Saints commemoration reminds us that we are connected through Christ to the faithful of every time and place. Even in our grief, we find hope in God's promise that one day every tear will be wiped away.

Who do you remember this day?

SERVICE

500 Christmas Cards. Countless Smiles!

Help us share a little Christmas joy with our neighbors!

This Christmas season, Community of Grace has a big goal: Make 500 Christmas cards to share with our friends at local assisted living communities, including Manor Lake!

Thanks to funding from Thrivent, we'll have supplies ready for a few evenings of creativity, fellowship, and kindness. We're inviting everyone to join us—including the Scouts who meet in our building, our congregation, and friends and neighbors throughout the community (including those who come to our Trunk or Treat and our neighboring Cooper Manor friends!

Come make cards with us:

  • Wednesday, November 11 & 18, at 7:00 PM
  • (Join us for dinner, if you like at 6:00pm)
  • Sunday, November 15, following worship

No artistic talent required! Just bring a willing heart and a little Christmas cheer. We'll provide the supplies, and together we'll create cards that remind our neighbors they are remembered, valued, and loved.

500 cards might sound like a lot, but many hands make light work—and a whole lot of Christmas joy!

Invite a friend, bring the family, and help us share God's love, one Christmas card at a time.

Donations can be placed in the Narthex Coop Barrel or on the table in the Narthex

You can also make a monetary donation to the church that will be sent to the Coop for use toward utility help and/or to restock the shelves.

Spring 2027 Enrollment Open for Southeastern Synod Lay Academy

The ELCA Southeastern Synod Leadership Academy spring term runs January 17 through March 18, and you are invited to join us in learning!

This spring, choose between 10 synchronous and 7 asynchronous courses, or create your own mix.

Synchronous courses meet via Zoom on a specific day – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday OR Thursday – six times throughout the term to cover content.

Asynchronous courses let you complete the content on your own schedule throughout the week.

Both course types include weekly assignments and a mini-project.

Both lead to certification. Whether you choose synchronous or asynchronous, you are always welcome to join our remote coffees and term celebration.

Courses cost just $60, financial assistance is available, and they are open to anyone who serves, leads, or is curious.

Two of the synchronous courses – one on art and faith and one on vocation – will be offered in Spanish!
