Every year, we celebrate the divine call that emerged and gave birth to Grace Presbyterian Church, Round Rock. No divine fault that perhaps the ‘round rock’ we are upon which the foundation of this church was built; an anchoring point, pioneering spirit and community identity. We are Christ’s church; the cornerstone of our faith is embedded in Round Rock.
As a living cornerstone church, we are united in body, soul, and spirit. We are not square, triangular, or rectangular rocks. We are round like a circle with no starting point and no ending point. That is what symbolizes our love for God and for one another; a love that is never ending. That is who we are. We carry this love and shine brighter in our stewardship and generosity to ourselves and beacon of hope to a dark world.
What shape is your rock?
How can a dark world see us as a beacon of hope and light? As we approach our 27th anniversary celebration, here is one wonderful quote I want us to thoughtfully reflect on: “Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.” — J. M. Barrie
As a church family, we are called to be salt and light in the world—to love generously, give joyfully, and serve faithfully. When we think about Christian stewardship, it is easy to focus on the act of giving itself: offering our time, our spiritual gifts, our financial blessings, and our care. But Scripture and experience remind us that generosity is never a one-way street.
When you choose to pour love and kindness into the lives of others, God has a beautiful way of reflecting that warmth right back into your own spirit. As Proverbs 11:25 reminds us, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” True stewardship is not merely a responsibility—it is a sacred opportunity to participate in God's work, building up our faith community while discovering deeper purpose, joy, and peace in our own hearts.
Whether through serving in a ministry, encouraging a neighbor, supporting our church’s mission, or simply offering a warm smile and a listening ear, every act of faithful stewardship leaves a lasting mark.
As we walk together this week, let’s remember that the light we share brightens our entire congregation and ripples far beyond our walls.
How will you share your light and blessings with someone in our church family or community this week?
