We pray you have been receiving our e-communications through email and Facebook. This e-newsletter is to bring together some of the recent communications and to help our members and families during this time of the Coronavirus.
Benevolence Appeal: 3-20-20
Hello Grace Families,
We pray this message finds you well considering the challenges our community and nation are facing with the Corona Virus. We are reminded of the Mercy and Grace given freely by our Lord Jesus… As Jesus speaks to us in John 16:33; “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

With the orders and guidance of our civil government, we have closed down on-campus ministry activities at Grace. With that in mind, our leadership team is re-defining the ways we serve, minister and reach out to our members and families.

In closing campus ministry activities, most of the employees that serve our families are in a furlough status and no longer working. Additionally, revenues for the school ministries are significantly impacted because of the ‘stay-at-home’ restrictions. We ask that you keep all of Grace’s members and families in prayer, both as we care for each other’s spiritual needs, and also for the financial challenges our members may face.

During this time of change, we want to remind you of the importance of continuing your family’s regular tithing as Grace’s ministries continue serving our Lord Jesus at Grace and in the community. Additionally, we are asking you to consider additional gifts for benevolence support of both our staff, and for members facing financial challenges.

As you may be aware, Grace has an ongoing support ministry called “Helping Hands.” This ministry cares for Grace families that are experiencing extraordinary life challenges. Our goal is to use gifts for staff benevolence needs, distributing them on a needs basis under the Helping Hands guidelines. If your family has a specific need during this time, please contact the church office (760-745-0831).

In your gifts to support benevolence, you may designate your gift for ‘Staff Benevolence’ and/or for ‘Helping Hands’ ministry support… If you are a Thrivent member, you may also give by designating your ‘Thrivent Choice’ dollars to Grace.

As you consider your opportunity to give to support Grace and her staff and members through this crisis, please give generously. You may give online at or by mail by bringing your gift to the Church Office. All gifts to Grace are tax-deductible and will be used to help our staff and members as we move through this time of uncertainty and financial strain.

Here's a way to support our health workers:
Grace church member and school parent, Helena Isbell is leading a drive for medical masks for Palomar Hospital. Here's a message from Helena on how you can help...
We need homemade masks made as fast as we can and as many as we can. I am part of a team for Palomar Hospital to get the word out and get this rolling. We made a drop off Box at Grace Lutheran Church, 643 West 13th Ave. Escondido, CA 92025. On the left side of the church office is a parking lot to drive up and drop off. (We may be back at another time to pass out kits) Below is a link to a video on how to make them, but they will take all masks made different ways. If you have questions please call or text Helena 760-310-1566 Thank you!
Did you know?
Grace Christian School was teaching students via the internet only 2 days after the state's mandatory quarantine? Our teachers and staff are missing the students, but are keeping in contact with all of them and their families. Thank you, Grace teachers!

Have you been following our Facebook page? March 23-27 was Cyber Spirit Week at Grace Christian School. Pastor Aaron and Mrs. Quezada even kept us on schedule with chapel day! Here are some pictures our students sent us from their homes.
Keep in touch with us and help us keep in touch with you through this time of quarantine.
