Growing in Confidence through Art
Every week the girls enjoy an art class taught by our volunteer Arlene. They learn about different styles of art, and about the artists themselves. The art helps the girls grow in self confidence as they learn new skills and then use those skills to complete a project.

We are in need of quality art supplies. Arlene says that "better quality materials lead to better results, which helps the girls' self confidence." We need items such as acrylic paint, artist-grade watercolor paint, and canvases. All of the supplies are in at [email protected] with donations.
At the House
We're so thankful to the many Gracehaven friends who helped the girls feel loved this holiday season. During a time of year when being away from family is difficult, the many gifts and cards helped show them that they are not going through this journey alone.

The girls also had a lot of fun going on field trips over the holidays. These trips included the Grove City Christmas parade, Butch Bando's Fantasy of Lights, Alum Creek State Park, a Christmas party with one of their activity classes, and a holiday program at a local church.

We are nearly ready to open a third cottage at our residential campus! That means we can serve 12 girls at one time! We're excited to begin helping even more girls heal from their trauma. But that also means we need more workers to help guide and shepherd the girls. We are specifically in need of more house moms, school tutors and community mentors. Prevention Education
"I Think People Are Shocked"
Stephanie Rollins is a survivor of sex trafficking. She is also Gracehaven's Prevention Education Coordinator. Her unique experience allows her to speak with blunt detail of the impact trafficking causes in victims of any age, but especially minors. She speaks all over Central Ohio sharing how anyone can join the fight to end child sex trafficking. One recent group included the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at The Ohio State University (pictured here). The following note was shared with Stephanie after a recent presentation:

"Dear Stephanie,

"Thanks so much for the touching and informative presentation last night. Many of our members have sent an email to me this morning saying how great it was and very eye opening. I think people are shocked as\t how this occurs and no one realizes it. Your message will definitely have more eyes to see something if they know someone who may have some of the red flags and struggles. I just met you but an so proud of what you are doing to spread the word, mentoring these young girls and making valuable strides in your own life."

We provide these presentations FREE of charge. If you're interested in learning about child sex trafficking and how you can play a role, contact us today at 614.302.9515 or [email protected].
