Interdisciplinary Series for Professional Intellectual and Research Engagement (INSPIRE)

INSPIRE is a graduate student-led initiative, supported by the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGSR), to promote interdisciplinary collaboration amongst different departments and faculties at the University of Regina. The goal of this initiative is to provide graduate students the opportunity to engage with and learn from one another, and to facilitate collaboration amongst students and faculty members. Beginning in the Winter 2023 semester, INSPIRE will be hosting several events, including lightning research talks, which will allow students to share their research amongst their peers in a comfortable setting. A writing workshop will also be hosted, where students can actively engage and cultivate their writing skills with the support of other students and faculty.

INSPIRE is in early stages of development and we are looking for motivated graduate students to get involved as executive members. Additionally, should you be interested in joining one of the upcoming Winter 2023 events as a participant, email INSPIRE to express your interest. Once the dates are finalized for the events you will be able to select a position before it is opened to other graduate students. If you would like to join the INSPIRE team and/or be a participant in one of the events, email inspire.uregina@gmail.com. We look forward to collaborating with all of you!

Research Ethics Approval is Moving Online

The Office of Research Services launched on December 23, 2022 the Research Ethics Module of the Converis Research Information System. This will be a soft launch until January 11, and until then researchers will have the option to submit new Research Ethics Board Applications using either the old PDF form or the new Research Ethics Module of Converis. After January 11 applications MUST be submitted using Converis, as the old PDF application will no longer be accepted.

Once the system goes live, a link to Converis will be added to the Human Ethics Forms Page.

Graduate students will need to request access to the platform. This can be done using a link in the student tab of UR-Self Service. Click on the "Student" Tab --- Click on "Student Records" --- Click on "Converis Access Request" This is currently active and requests take 24 hours to process, including during university closures. Please note, if there are issues, these will need to be resolved during business hours.
