3MT Competition


Want to showcase your research and maybe win some money?


The Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) is an internationally recognized competition for thesis-based graduate students to present their work and its wider impact in three minutes or less, in an accessible and compelling way with only one static slide.


The U of R winner will receive a $1,500 prize and progresses to the Western Regional Final. For more details, visit 3MT at the UofR.

Startup 101 Bootcamp


The Startup 101 Bootcamp, hosted by the GATE Centre, offers a unique opportunity for ALL University of Regina students, faculty and staff interested in starting their own business, startups, or commercialization. This interdisciplinary, multi-day program is designed to immerse participants in the Saskatchewan startup ecosystem, help refine their ideas, build connections, and gain essential business skills.

Other Opportunities

Research Project Management Training for Grad Students & Postdocs


On Jan 27, 12pm, CAGS is offering a new 90-minute workshop for graduate students and postdocs on building practical research project management skills. Participants will learn how to use 3 one-page tools—a work breakdown structure, a deliverable-based Gantt chart, and a tracking sheet—to plan, organize, and monitor the progress of their thesis or dissertation.


FGSR has 20 tickets available.

Postdoctoral Fellowship



Apply for a University of Toronto, Data Sciences Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship - To be considered for a Fellowship, applicants must pursue a research project that has a data sciences focus, through the development of novel methodology or the innovative application of existing approaches. New for this round, proposed projects must be categorized within at least one of four methodological pillars. Apply by January 23, 2026 here.
