Graduate Student Leaders Wanted – Secure Your Spot in GSS 2025-26!

The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) is seeking passionate and dedicated graduate students to join the Senate Executive Committee (SEC) for the upcoming academic year.


There are two sets of elections, both with a March 17 deadline:


Elections Set 1:

Positions include President, Vice-President, Academic Affairs Representative, Student Experience Representative, Treasurer, and Secretary. (To be eligible for President, you must have been a GSS member for at least 20 weeks. For Vice-President, a minimum of 5 weeks is required.)

Lease in Peace: A Renter's Toolkit


Are you a renter? Are you ever uncertain what your rights and responsibilities are? Do you ever struggle with communicating productively with your landlord? Are you unsure of what resources are available for you? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then come join us at Lease In Peace: A Renter’s Toolkit! This event is hosted Undergraduate Student Government and cosponsored by Graduate Student Senate, in partnership with BG SONG (Bowling Green Save Our Neighborhoods Group) and PEBG (People of Engagement Bowling Green). There will be presentations on effective communication with your landlord and resources for renters, as well as plenty of discussion about issues YOU have experienced and your ideas for how to work together to make Bowling Green a great place to rent. 


Pizza, beverages, and homemade cookies will be provided.

Call for Proposals - Midwest Graduate Research Symposium

The University of Toledo Graduate Student Association (GSA) is hosting their 16th Annual Midwest Graduate Research Symposium (MGRS) on Saturday, April 12, from 9 AM – 3:30 PM in the Memorial Field House on the University of Toledo Main Campus.


Students can present thesis research, dissertation research, scholarly project research/work, and field experiences (You also do not have to have a finished paper or project!), and more through seminar, poster, or lightning talk. Call for Interactive Session Proposals for the Teaching & Learning Summit

The CFE is now accepting interactive session proposals for the 2025 Teaching & Learning Summit on Tuesday, May 13 in Olscamp Hall. The theme for this year’s Summit is “Thriving Together: Redefining Success and Well-Being.” Inspired by Dr Liz Norell’s keynote address, “Authenticity and Presence as Wellbeing Practices,” during this year’s summit, we will explore innovative teaching techniques, share resources for promoting well-being, and work together to redefine success in a way that honors our authentic selves and strengthens our relationships with other members of the BGSU community. 


Proposed interactive sessions should have clear learning outcomes and provide participants with multiple opportunities to collaborate, interact, and engage. All members of the BGSU teaching community, including faculty, instructors, staff, and graduate students, are welcome and encouraged to submit a proposal. The CFE encourages facilitators to collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines and departments and with undergraduate students on session development and facilitation when appropriate.

Applications are now being accepted for the Center for Faculty Excellence’s 2024-2025 Professional Engagement Certificate! Falcon Food Pantry


The Falcon Food Pantry is here to support BGSU students, faculty, and staff with nutritious and accessible food. Diapers and hygiene items are also available. All members of the BGSU community are welcome to stop by once a week to select a bag of food and hygiene items. Please bring your BGSU ID card with you.

Mental Health Care for BGSU Students

The BGSU Counseling Center is here to help you connect to mental health resources on and around campus if or when you need them.

 

  • If you need mental health support, the BGSU Counseling Center is open and available to you. To set an appointment or speak with an on-call counselor for crisis situations, call 419-372-2081 between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. You can also utilize the Wood County Crisis Line at 419-502-4673, which is open 24/7 to those in Wood County.
  • Falcon Health Chat is a free and confidential tool, available 24/7 to all BGSU students, faculty, and staff. Falcon Health Chat can help support your mental health by offering resources to help you manage anxiety and depression, relieve stress, and build resilience.
