Vision Team Survey
Greetings! My name is David Parry and I am a board member of the Open Door Churches and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Salem. I am the chair of a sub-group tasked with gathering insights to help us establish a 5-10 year Strategic Vision for the Open Door Churches of Salem-Keizer.

Over the next several months, we want to listen and gather input from you, the congregation on how you would like to see the Open Door Churches evolve and how we have a presence in your life and our communities. We would love it if you could prayerfully fill out this survey (all members of the household individually) to get some baseline feedback.

We will then be doing some interviews with folks in the congregations and community at large. The plan is to have this data available to the ODC board in early summer so that we can draft this Strategic Vision for consideration of the Open Door Churches in Salem-Keizer in the early Fall.

Thank you so much in advance for your valuable input into this process!

Congregations Helping People Service Opportunity
Congregations Helping People Prepares for service to community with Volunteer Training Event

We are going to serve clients initially at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, located at 1770 Baxter Rd SE, in Salem - and we are going to open with at least one or two board members -- and hopefully, two volunteers every session. Please let us know that you are interested!
Training for all volunteers! Volunteers will greet clients, check to be sure they have brought necessary paperwork, and work with the board members to help clients in our community. Volunteers are not expected to be there for every session, and we will train you. Just help as you are able!
You can help! We are going to have a training session for volunteers on Saturday, May 22nd from 10 am to noon.
We hope to start our CHP sessions on Saturday, June 5th (at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church). You can attend the training session to find out if this is something that you might be interested in, and you do not have to make a commitment, if you just want to check it out! Likewise, if you are interested in volunteering but can’t come on May 22nd, we can find another time to train you.
If volunteering is not in the cards, but if you would like to support Congregations Helping People in the work that they do to provide direct aid to the community, donations can be given through their website at, or mailed to Congregations Helping People, PO Box 12412, Salem, OR. 97309
Thank you for your support - Saturdays of Service
Las Naciones UMC has a wonderful program to support new parents, and they invited us to be a part of their project, "Care Box for New Parents."

The goal is 300 care boxes for new parents and before last weekend's donation event, they had collected items to fill 100 care boxes.

Last weekend we supported their goal through financial donations and care box donations for new moms and new dads! The congregation at Las Naciones felt the love and support from all the Open Door United Methodist Churches!
