ST. NERSESS ARMENIAN SEMINARY
Ս. ՆԵՐՍԷՍ ԸՆԾԱՅԱՐԱՆ
Preparing Leaders for Service in the Armenian Church since 1961
Upcoming 2023 Graduation

On Saturday, May 20, the seminary will hold its annual graduation ceremony for its 2023 graduate, Dn. Serop Krajekian, who has successfully completed his program of studies at St. Nersess Seminary. The Very Rev. Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan, Primate of the Eastern Diocese and the President of the St. Nersess Board of Directors, will officiate.

Dn. Serop currently lives in Charlotte, NC, with his wife and two children and is an electrical engineer by profession. He has been serving as a deacon at St. Sarkis Armenian Church in Charlotte since 2015.
“I was very grateful to be able to join the St. Nersess family in 2021 as a student, with the strong encouragement and support from many parishioners at St. Sarkis Church. Becoming a seminarian was another turning point in my life that has allowed me to grow in faith and develop a more profound knowledge of the Armenian Apostolic Church,” shares Dn. Serop. “While a seminarian, I have witnessed the dedication of the faculty, staff, and board members, people who spare no effort in teaching well-prepared seminarians who seek service in our Diocese.”

Dn. Serop looks forward to whatever plans lies ahead for him and his family. “I pray that God enables me to use all I have learned and experienced to be in service to Him, always to glorify Him, and to serve our Church and our people for the rest of my life," exclaimed Dn. Serop.

In the afternoon, members of the St. Nersess Board of Directors will gather in the library for the end of the fiscal and academic year meeting.

The public is welcome to attend the ceremony starting at 4:00 pm in the chapel. To RSVP, please click here. Donations to honor the graduate and the occasion can be made online at https://stnersess.edu/support/

A Pilgrimage to the Seminary

On Sunday morning, April 30, thirty members of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection (ACHR), New Britain, CT, traveled to St. Nersess Seminary. They were led by their pastor, the Rev. Fr. Haroutiun Sabounjian, a 2018 seminary graduate, who stressed that the trip was designated a pilgrimage and not simply a visit, as a pilgrimage is made to a holy or sacred place, which St Nersess is for all Armenians.

Upon their arrival, they were greeted by the Rev. Fr. Mardiros Chevian, Dean. Then, Badarak was celebrated by Fr. Haroutiun, who was assisted by his altar servers from the parish, while Adrienne Damian, longtime choir director at ACHR, led their own choir members as well as the St. Nersess seminarians. Seminarian Dn. Garen Hamamjian offered the homily, and Yeretsgin Lucine served as organist.
Following the Divine Liturgy, all enjoyed lunch prepared by Wilma Petrossian, St. Nersess Manager of Food Services. Fr. Mardiros spoke about the history and purpose of the seminary, and participants were able to interact with the seminarians and later tour the campus, where Fr. Mardiros explained the sacred paintings in the Hagop Chapel.

“It was truly a blessing to extend the worship experience of our parish beyond the confines of our sanctuary walls, and in joining in prayer at St. Nersess Seminary with the seminary community, to be inspired by the palpable holiness of this precious institution of our diocese; being reinvigorated in the Lord’s sacred mission for us as children of the Armenian Church to serve the community of New Britain, Connecticut in his love,” exclaimed. Fr. Haroutiun.
