GGUSD High Schools Celebrate the Class of 2026

More than 3,000 high school seniors from Garden Grove Unified School District graduated from the district’s eight high schools during festive and heartwarming graduation ceremonies held May 26-27 at the district’s stadiums at Bolsa Grande and Garden Grove high schools.

GGUSD friends and family members filled the stadiums to cheer on their graduates. Ceremonies featured inspiring student musical performances as well as heartwarming speeches from students, principals, and board of education members, reading of the names, presentation of class gifts, presentation of the Class of 2026, and awarding of diplomas.

Among the Class of 2026, more than 930 students report that they have chosen to attend a UC or CSU school. Students in the Class of 2026 finished high school with more than 11,100 Advanced Placement courses completed and earned nearly 7,500 college credits through GGUSD’s dual enrollment opportunities. Students also completed more than 1,200 Career Pathways. GGUSD congratulates all graduates and wishes them continued success as they begin their next chapter in college, careers, military service and beyond.

Intermediate Schools Celebrate Students Continuing on to High School

This week, GGUSD proudly celebrated intermediate school promotion ceremonies across the district as students marked an exciting milestone in their educational journey. Families, friends, teachers and staff came together to recognize students for their hard work, growth and many achievements as they finished intermediate school well-equipped for success in high school.

Elementary Schools Celebrate Promotion of Sixth Grade Students

GGUSD elementary schools celebrated sixth grade students with festive promotion ceremonies, recognizing students for the successful completion of elementary school. Families, teachers and staff gathered to honor students for their hard work, growth and achievements throughout the year. From outstanding performances to proud moments on stage, each celebration highlighted the joy and promise of our sixth graders as they move onto intermediate school.

Mark Twain Special Education Center Celebrates Class of 2026 Graduates

This week, GGUSD recognized the students and adult learners of the Mark Twain Special Education Center as they were celebrated in a meaningful ceremony honoring their achievements and transitions into adulthood. Families, staff, educators, and community members gathered to reflect on the growth, progress, and milestones each individual has reached throughout their educational journey in GGUSD. The celebration highlighted their strengths, independence, and the unique paths they continue to pursue beyond the program. GGUSD extends its congratulations and appreciation to these remarkable individuals as they move forward into the next chapter of their lives with confidence and support from a caring community.

Free Summer Meals Program Begins Monday, June 1

GGUSD is offering its annual free Summer Meal program, including both breakfast and lunch, to help ensure that children continue to have access to nutritional meals when school is not in session. The program provides free summer meals to GGUSD students who are participating in Summer School and Summer Extended Learning Programs as well as to all school-aged children during designated community-based Summer Meal times offered at 13 school campuses and one public library.

Lunches, provided at no charge, are designed to meet a student’s nutritional needs, featuring meal items like sandwiches, pizza, breaded chicken bites, mini tacos, mini cheeseburger sliders, yogurt, a variety of fruits and vegetables from the salad bar, juice and milk. Breakfast options include cereal, breakfast bars, French Toast bites and pan dulce. Last year, GGUSD served more than 200,000 summer meals through the program.

GGUSD Offers Online Learning Resources to Keep Students Engaged

As summer begins, we encourage families to help students stay engaged and prepared for the 2026–27 school year. As we do each summer, GGUSD has compiled free online resources for students in grades K–12, including access to digital textbooks, learning platforms, and parent support tools. Students may use these tools to preview the next year’s content across subjects so they can be prepared for the academic year to come or to review concepts from the past school year they have yet to master!
