Dear Viking Families:
Administrators were made aware of graffiti in school restrooms that contained racial slurs and sexual violence. The graffiti – written with a dry erase marker – was quickly removed. An active investigation is underway to identify the person(s) responsible.
I want to commend the courageous student who brought the graffiti to our attention so it could be quickly removed. I also want to apologize to that student and any others who witnessed the damaging words. Our counseling team is here to support any students who may want help processing the situation.
The Francis Howell School District and Francis Howell High School will not tolerate racism, hate speech or acts of violence. This behavior is deplorable and does not reflect our Viking values.
I urge all students who may have information that could aid in our investigation to come forward. Students found responsible will receive discipline in accordance with the FHSD Code of Student Conduct and may face legal charges.
