Last night, thanks to the generosity of our friends and neighbors, local responders picked up approximately 100 bags of essential supplies, going to those in need in Midland Staten Island, Red Hook Brooklyn and Breezy Point Queens -- 3 neighborhoods devastated by loss of life and homes, flooding, fire and power outages. 

With a northeaster forecast for Wednesday, with freezing temperatures in the 20s, wind, rain, and additional flooding and power outages expected, the need is even more urgent than ever for us to act now.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

DONATE SUPPLIES - Drop off to Arlene Harrison at 34 Gramercy Park East (20th St):
Blankets, hand warmers, or other items to keep warm

Canned/dry food, non-perishable food that doesn't need to be heated

Warm clothing - all ages i.e. sweaters, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jackets, socks, gloves, hats
Baby formula/bottles, diapers, baby wipes, hand sanitizers

Toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, trash bags

DONATE FUNDS - Tax-deductible donations to The Gramercy Park Block Association.

Donations will be used to purchase hot meals, generators, gasoline, medical supplies, construction tools and supplies, propane heaters, water pumps, shovels, brooms, rakes, transistor radios, flashlights, batteries, work gloves, rubber gloves, paper masks, hygiene items and other essentials as needed.

The cleanup and rebuilding effort is projected to take months.  Going forward we will update you regarding additional supplies and resources that may be needed.
