Williston Herald Letter to the Editor: On April 9 residents living in Williston Public School District No. 1 will vote on a mill levy and school bond to build two new elementary schools and expand the high school.  As the executive director of Williston Economic Development; I support a yes vote on both questions as these schools are critical to our community's future.  During the past 10 years, we have seen unprecedented growth in Williston; we have built an impressive infrastructure that has caught the attention of globally diversified industries, restaurants and retail sectors. Community invited to Buck Scheele Family Animal Center Grand Opening April 6

Williston Herald - After years of hard work, dedication and fundraising, the MonDak Animal Rescue is finally ready to officially open the doors on their new facility.  The Buck Scheele Family Animal Center, which is operated by the Mondak Animal Rescue, is holding its grand opening on Saturday, April 6. Construction began on the facility in December 2016, and shelter manager Tamara Rooks said that after more than two years, it's a tremendous feeling to finally officially open the doors to the public.    Read More
Williston moves forward with City Hall Remodel
Williston Herald - City Hall is a step closer to remodel, after a vote from the Williston City Commission.  At the Tuesday, March 26, meeting of the commission, Development Services Director Mark Schneider went before the commissioners to approve the hiring of a Construction Manager at Risk to assist in pricing and final design decisions for the building's upcoming remodel.     Read More

Williston Chamber President resigns

Heather Voll has resigned as the president of the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce has accepted the resignation of its president, Heather Voll.  Voll has served as Chamber president since September 2018. Her last day with the Chamber was April 1, 2019.  "It has been my pleasure to work with the chamber staff, its members and the community," said Voll. "I look forward to watching the Williston community thrive."  The Chamber Board of Directors will begin a local and national search for a new president in the coming weeks and are committed to providing a seamless transition. 

ND's Economy Expanding

North Dakota's economy is expanding according to new survey.
Prairie Public News - An economic survey of supply managers in North Dakota shows the state's economy is expanding.  Dr. Ernie Goss is an economics professor at Creighton University. He compiles the Monthly Business Conditions Index of nine Midwestern states, including North Dakota. North Dakota's index for the month of March was 55.0, which rose from February's rating of 51.6. Any reading above 50 on the index indicates economic growth. Goss says North Dakota's growth currently mirror's the national economy's, which is solid but modest.    Read More

Roundup - Richland Economic Development Corp is pleased to announce that the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) committee has awarded its sixteenth loan for the expansion of a business in Fairview. Tim Neu was approved for a loan to remodel and improve Neu's SuperValu. Tim completed an application in partnership with his lead lender, Chad Molden, of Stockman Bank of Sidney, and presented this project to the RLF committee for review. The funding request was to consolidate loans, remodel and update equipment. Read More

Roundup - Yellowstone Marketplace located in downtown Sidney is always re-inventing itself to better serve its clientele. They recently opened a new antique store called "Archer's Antiques" in honor of Arch Ellwein who had his antique store in the same location for many years. The store is an on-going project as merchandise is collected from all over the country. The owners are Russ and Linda Wells. The antiques expect to draw interest from tourists and local shoppers. Read More

The community is invited to 1MC at 8:30 a.m. at Williston State College Teton Lounge. The event and coffee are free!

05/06-07 ------ Shrine Circus
The 88th Shrine Circus will be held at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Raymond Family Community Center.

06/21 ------ CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Golf Tournament
