Your Weekly Tune Up
Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance is set to end soon. Property owners that have already been approved for rental assistance have until October 30th 2020 to opt-in for the extensions. The application portal will close at 11:59 PM EST on October 30th. Visit the program website for details.

Flu shots are now available free of charge at pharmacies and doctors’ offices across the province. Alberta Health Services (AHS) is also offering immunizations by appointment for those under five years old and those in their household. More information.

A joint pilot program from the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada – the first of its kind in the country – will safely test an alternative to the current 14-day quarantine requirement for international travellers while continuing to protect Canadians from COVID-19. Advocacy in Action
We have come together with Medicine Hat College (MHC) and the City of Medicine Hat to encourage cohesive regional vitality and collaborative action within Southeastern Alberta.
Fill up on Funding
The Innovation Relief and Recovery Program is designed to provide COVID relief and recovery funding for pre- and post-revenue high potential, high growth, technology or knowledge-based Alberta small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Eligible applicants can apply for up to $10,000. A call for applications is now open until November 2, 2020 at 4:00 pm.
An investment of $12 million to support the Canada United campaign was announced to support local businesses in communities across the country.
Grants up to $5,000 are available to small businesses so they can cover the costs of physical modifications to their businesses to meet local health and safety requirements.

Infill development. It's an idea and practice that cities across North America are embracing and with good reason. Infrastructure such as roads, water mains, and sewer lines are costly for municipalities when developing new sub-divisions.
Infill improvement allows developers to capitalize on existing infrastructure through increased densification that can increase a city's property tax base.

Medicine Hat College offering a new program opportunity for students interested in growing a career in agriculture. Courses within the program will prepare students with a range of knowledge in the three E’s: environment, economics, and energy using systems theory. The agroecology program will launch in September 2021, with applications opening November 1, 2020.
