Greetings Shooters!

With the 126th Annual Grand American World Trapshooting Championships now etched into the history books, I want to offer my warmest congratulations to all of our Florida resident shooters. And “congratulations” hardly seems enough—because you didn’t just compete, you dominated, bringing home an astounding 41 titles to the Sunshine State.

Event after event, there it was—“FL” perched proudly near the very top of the scoreboard, as if Florida had quietly decided to annex the winner’s circle. From my vantage point, it was like watching a highlight reel on endless replay, and in my 25 years of competitive trapshooting, I can’t recall a single Grand where our shooters enjoyed this level of across-the-board success.

The consistency, the depth of talent, and the sheer number of achievements from our shooters this year was nothing short of remarkable. This wasn’t just a strong showing—it was a defining moment that will be remembered for years to come.

Among the many standout moments from this year’s Grand, a few individual performances demand special recognition.

Leading the charge was Federico Ramirez. From the very first shot, Federico was locked in, laser-focused, and absolutely in command of his game. By the time the dust settled, he had collected an impressive five trophies, each one a testament to his consistency and skill. The crown jewel of his week came in the President David Rhoads Handicap, where he posted the lone 99 in the entire event. That remarkable feat not only earned him the Champion’s title but also punched his ticket to the 27-yard line for the very first time. In addition he was awarded 4 additional trophies.

Joining Federico in the action was Carl Chadwell. He secured Sub-vet trophies in the Rio Handicap, Blaser Handicap, All American Woodworking Doubles, E-Z-Go Prelim Week HAA, Millennium Luxury Coaches Super 500 Handicap, and the Negrini Preliminary HOA 1000.

Matt Trammell captured 4 trophies and shot several 200 straights along the way. His trophies included Class AAA Fourth in the Winchester AA Class Singles, Event Seventh in the Challenger Handicap, Event Ninth in the Caesar Guerini Handicap, and Class AAA Third in the ATA World HOA by Prize Possessions.

Bruce Burton, Nancy Patterson, and Jake Jacobs followed closely behind with each earning three trophies each. Bruce was Vet Runner Up in the Mec Outdoor Singles, Vet Champion in the NRA Singles, and Class A Runner Up in the Winchester Super 500 Singles. Nancy blasted a 200 straight to win Lady II Champion in the ATA World Clay Target Championship by Browning, as well as taking Lady II Runner up in the ATA World HOA by Prize Possessions, and Lady II Third in the E-Z-Go Prelim Week HAA. Jake was Class D Champion in the ATA World Clay Target Championship by Browning, Class D Third in the Excel Bottling Company Super 500 Doubles, and Sr. Vet Champion in the Handicap Doubles.

Dax Demena captured 3rd Place in the Challenger Ammunition Handicap with a 99 and 27 Yard Runner-up with a 97 in the Grand American Handicap. In the same event, Jake Hooper earned Junior Champion with a 98 and Henry Gainer won 19 -21.5 3rd with a 96.
