Hello Campers!

What a wonderful season we're having! We are so grateful for our "regulars" who return again and again, as well as for the new members of our "GrandView Family." We feel a great energy of love and friendship as we watch the "weekend neighbors" build new friendships as well.

We'll be honest, there have been moments of challenge... technical breakdowns or the occasional 'oops' in site assignments or such. Still... like they say, a bad day at the campground, is still better than a good day doing something you don't love.

We understand some folks are disappointed in the current 'no visitor' status, please know we are doing our best to make a plan for visitors in the future.

Even the bumps in the road are made easier because of the understanding and support of our campers. And we want you to know how much we appreciate it.

If you haven't made it to GrandView yet, come check us out! You'll be glad you did.

This little guy seems to be confused. We believe it's a woodpecker, who thinks its a humming bird.

Good News ~ Sad News

The Good News is that Laura lovingly designed and made these beautiful table markers. They let campers know which table to use during their visit.

The Sad News is, campers took at least one home with them. So, we must sadly ask everyone to please not give in to the temptation to take campground property home. It is here to make everyone's visit more enjoyable.

PS... if one of the GrandView Ghosts came home with the table marker, you can return it to the campground, and the ghosts will stop haunting you. :)

Old Timer Skillet Bread

EQUIPMENT:

Skillet with Cover or Foil

Large bowl

Small bowl

Large spoon

Table Knife

Fork

Spatula

Measuring Spoons

Measuring Cup

INGREDIENTS:

2 Cups self rising flour (or 2 cups flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt.)

1 Cup Buttermilk or Milk

6 Tablespoons Butter (cold)

2 Tablespons Molasses

Mix dry ingredients together.

Cut butter into chunks, then blend into flour with a fork, mixing until crumbly like cornmeal.

Add about 2/3 of milk and mix. You will want a wet dough. Add more milk if necessary. If still too stiff, add a little water. You don't want it too watery nor too stiff.

Melt 2 Tablespoons of butter in pan. Add dough and press to form equal thickness all around.

Put over medium fire, cover, and cook for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown on bottom.

When done on bottom, you will notice the top is firm and dry to the touch. Carefully flip with spatula, and cook another 5 minutes.

While waiting for bread to cook, prepare molasses butter. Put rest of butter (2 Tablespoons) in small bowl and stir with 1-2 Tablespoons of molasses, to taste.

NEW POLICY: NO CAMPSITE RUGS. As most of you know we have worked diligently to assure your sites are grassy and beautiful. Campsite rugs are killing the grass. Some will not return this season. You MAY put down a door mat less than 30", and you may put a rug on the crushed rock.
