Generations United’s Statement on Ways we Can Support Grandfamilies in the Wake of the Overturning of the Roe v. Wade Decision
The recent Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade has drawn more focus on the way our country is divided. As the country considers the wide-reaching ramifications of this decision, there is one group that is being overlooked — older adults who unexpectedly find themselves caring for babies and children. Read how we can support grandfamilies here.
2023 Casey Excellence for Children Awards
Nominate someone you know who is making a difference for children and families for a 2023 Casey Excellence for Children Award. Maybe you know someone who created a program or organization that mitigated the impact of COVID-19 in their community. Or maybe it is someone whose efforts effectively addressed disproportionality in the child welfare system. Or maybe you know someone who had an impact on lowering the number of children coming into foster care through increased family and community supports. Whoever comes to mind that inspires you, please consider nominating alumni of foster care, birth parent, kinship caregiver, or resource parent who has demonstrated extraordinary efforts on behalf of those involved in child welfare by clicking here.

You're Invited to The Black Experience Community Roundtable
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is
hosting roundtable discussions with the public to hear
directly from Black and African American people about their experiences with our programs, and their encounters with racism and bias when doing so. They would like to understand how ACF can improve our engagement and communication with
Black people and communities.

The virtual 90-minute community roundtables will be held in July (11th and 12th) and August (3rd and 4th). ACF is particularly interested in diverse representation from Black communities, including those who are:

  • Adults, young adults (18-24 years old), parents, and caregivers
  • Members of the LGBTQ+ community
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Members of the refugee and immigrant community
  • Individuals who may not have engaged in discussions with federal agencies in the past
