World Tai Chi Day New Haven Recap
Saturday was cold, damp and windy but the sun broke through so we could celebrate World Tai Chi Day New Haven. Considering the weather, we had a great turnout on the New Haven Green with beautiful downtown New Haven as our backdrop. Thank you to all who came out to support the event! We were excited to debut a brand new school demonstration routine, you can watch it above.

After the demonstrations and workshops on the New Haven Green, we enjoyed a truly fascinating symposium on Tai Chi as Medicine: Current Research on How Tai Chi Improves Health. Dr. Chenchen Wang, Director of Complementary and Integrative Medicine at Tufts Medical Center gave an outstanding presentation on her extensive research on Tai Chi as intervention for osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. Dr. Amer Abdullah publicly presented for the first time the preliminary findings of his research on Tai Chi for mental and physical health with New Haven area Syrian refugees. Dr. Edward Rippel gave an eye opening presentation on physician wellness and how he has incorporated Tai Chi and mindfulness into his practice.
