United Way of Southeast Missouri | March 2019 Newsletter
Grant Application Open Till April 12
Our grant application is now open for any organization seeking to join the United Way network and receive funds. Proposed programs must align with our mission to fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community.

We have simplified our application and hope to receive many proposals, both from current partners and those who would be new to our network. To provide as much objectivity as possible, every application must be reviewed by at least three different volunteers.

This means we need volunteers to help review and score them. If a volunteer opportunity that comes along once every three years which you can do in your PJs suits your schedule, this is it!
Volunteer from your Sofa!
We need volunteers to help us read and score the grant applications for our Community Investment Committee to review. Then the committee will conduct site visits with our Board of Directors to those scoring 70% or higher. Their final recommendations will be reviewed by our Board of Directors to identify UWSEMO partners for the next three years. Applications will be reviewed from April 13-May 2 ; each should take about 30 minutes. Please sign up here if you can help!
Be Our Guest at Community Celebration!
On Tuesday, April 9th, we will celebrate YOU--the volunteers, Employee Campaign Champions, and donors who are the backbone of our organization. Please make a point to join us at our Annual Community Celebration at the Jackson Civic Center from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM Tuesday, April 9th.

The reason we host our Community Celebration in April is because that is National Volunteer Month! We will present awards to our workplaces and community volunteers who have gone above and beyond. We also will give Step-Up prizes donated by generous area businesses to thank our donors who "stepped up" their donations from our previous campaign.

We hope the entire community will join us for Jimmy John's subs and learn more about the powerful impact of the United Way network. We can't wait to honor our VIP volunteers and donors. United Way of Southeast Missouri would not be nearly as successful without help from all of you!

Lunch is on us, but please RSVP here !
Thank You, Media Sponsors!
Would your business benefit from demonstrating your local philanthropy? We would like you to consider joining our Over the Edge sponsors! We still have some spots available for your logo to appear on the side of every Edger's helmet as a Helmet Sponsor or to have your business' name announced every time someone rappels down 'your' rope as a Rope Sponsor. Please contact our Community Relations Manager, Raechel Reinitz , for more information.
Mad Deals!

Can you feel it? That pulsating anxiety running through your body as announcers scream and co-workers jump up and down at their desks? Don't be alarmed; that's just the unbridled beauty of March Madness.

Over the Edge is also experiencing March Madness and offering these mad deals! But they're only through March. When March ends, so does our March Madness discount!

Are you looking for the perfect opportunity to become a role model for girls?
As a troop leader, you'll be a mentor and memory maker, working with girls and parents to chart a course of fun, learning, and friendship. Work together with another volunteer to plan troop meetings, bring the Girl Scout program to life, and help girls discover something new, connect to their peers and their community, and take action to make the world a better place.

As an assistant troop leader, you'll be trained to show your girls that they're capable of more than they ever imagined. Work together with another volunteer to plan troop meetings, bring the Girl Scout program to life, and help girls discover something new, connect to their peers and their community, and take action to make the world a better place.
