GRANT LAWRENCE TO HOST GALA
 We are pleased to announce that Grant Lawrence will host this year's Lieutenant Governor's BC Book Prizes Gala on May 4.
Grant Lawrence is a veteran CBC Radio personality, esteemed music journalist, and one of the founders of CBC Radio 3, the home of Canadian independent music. His debut book, Adventures in Solitude, was a national bestseller and won the Bill Duthie Booksellers' Choice Award in 2011. Grant is busy working on his next book about his trials and travails as a beleaguered and reluctant wonky-kneed beer league hockey goalie. Grant is married to Canadian singer-songwriter Jill Barber, and they live together in Vancouver.

The 29th Annual Lieutenant Governor's BC Book Prizes Gala will take place May 4 at Government House in Victoria. The recipients of the 2013 Book Prizes will be announced and the tenth annual Lieutenant Governor's Award for Literary Excellence will be presented to recipients Lorna Crozier and Sarah Ellis by The Honourable Judith Guichon, OBC, who will be in attendance.
