COPS School Violence Prevention Program

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The US Department of Justice is currently accepting applications through the COPS School Violence Prevention Program. Through this funding cycle, $73 million in funding is being made available to public school districts for the completion of evidence-based school safety programs and improvements.

PROJECT CATEGORIES

Applicants may request grants of up to $500,000 for the completion of projects that align with the below listed eligible project categories.

• Coordination with local law enforcement.
• Training for law enforcement officers to prevent school violence.
• Placement and use of metal detectors, locks, lighting, and other deterrent measures.
• Acquisition and installation of technology for expedited notification of local law enforcement during an emergency.
