Our quarterly grant priorities and process have been refreshed!
Grant Priorities and Application Updates
The goal of these changes is to make things
clearer, simpler and faster
for those who are looking for funding,
and give more flexibility with grant dollars.
Changes are effective starting with the July 1, 2022, submission deadline.

We hope the updates, developed by our Board of Trustees and staff team, make it easier for grant-seekers to know what we do and don't fund, complete a successful application, and implement funding.

Find more details in the GRANTS section of our website. If you have questions, please contact us at grants@northlandfdn.org. We would be happy to connect with you!

  • The minimum quarterly grant amount is $10,000. Most grants are general operating support.

  • There is one online grants portal and one set of questions. There is no longer an inquiry step for larger grants.

  • The five priority areas for quarterly grants are:

Basic Needs: Food security, homeless services, affordable housing, and other human needs essential to well-being.

Early Care and Education: Early care and education quality and access, parenting education and supports.

Out-of-School-Time: Out-of-school-time programming and enrichment activities for children and youth.

Domestic and Sexual Violence: Prevention and intervention in relation to domestic and family violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

Belonging: Efforts to help all people be fully a part of their community with the voice and power to shape institutions and systems.

NOTE: Applications and grant amounts for Maada'ookiing and Youth In Philanthropy grants have NOT changed. They are the same as before.
Thank you for all you do to support a thriving region!
