Please share with your Tribal leaders, Tribal staff, and Tribal community members.
California Indian Education for All (CIEFA) is offering grant writing support for Tribal Libraries and Tribal Education Centers. Come and learn about non-competitive grants for Tribes to support expanding Tribal libraries, professional learning, and culturally responsive programming. Learn how to access support with current grant opportunities. CIEFA is supporting Native American and Alaska Native Tribal communities across the nation to expand the collection of Indigenous-authored and illustrated books and culturally relevant library resources in their Tribal library, broaden family literacy program offerings, enhance staff professional development and training opportunities, and create/share Native American literacy and library resources at professional conferences and collaborative events. Applications for the next grant are due February 4, 2025.
Come and learn how your Tribe can apply for funds to purchase additional Indigenous authored and illustrated books to expand access to free, librarian-curated children’s books for Native American children and families. This grant-funded project will support the growth of indigenized Tribal and home libraries within our communities and foster culturally and linguistically responsive literacy. By enriching Tribal libraries, Tribal communities will nurture empathy, courage, resilience, sovereignty, and a deeper understanding of Native Ways of Knowing among young readers.
