Grantee Spotlight: Kings Local Schools

The Warren County Foundation was able to recently provide a discretionary grant to the Kings Local School District to support their Companions on a Journey program to support grieving students.

"We are deeply grateful to the Warren County Foundation for this transformative investment in our students' mental health and wellbeing. We know that 1 in 14 children experience significant loss before age 18, and that 74% of grieving students report impacts on their schoolwork and sleep. This grant enables us to provide comprehensive grief support through our partnership with Companions on a Journey, helping students heal, maintain academic progress, and build resilience when they need it most. The Foundation's support makes it possible to offer both ongoing peer support groups and immediate Grief Support Toolkits."
