Introducing an Exciting New Way to Support Students: Honor Grants

The MPC Foundation is launching a new program to help students enter and complete critical workforce training programs without ensuing crippling debt.

Adapted from a successful program at another college, the MPC Foundation’s Honor Grant program will provide critical, up-front funding to Nursing, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services students to offset their educational expenses without leading to extensive debt. Honor Grants are repayable with zero interest beginning one year after graduation on a monthly basis, and all repayments are charitable donations.

This model not only opens the door to high-wage careers for many who otherwise could not afford to participate in these intensive training programs, but does so in a way that prevents them from incurring high-interest loan or credit card debt. Instead, their tax-deductible repayments will replenish the fund for future students.

With support from a generous donor, all gifts to the Honor Grant program will be matched dollar for dollar. If you appreciate nurses, firefighters and EMTs and are in a position to help, we encourage you to learn more and join us in supporting students entering these critical professions.

Because of You!

Empowering Stephanie

Every scholarship at Monterey Peninsula College starts with someone choosing to invest in a student’s future. Because of you, our donors, students are able to stay in school, reach their goals, and build a better future.

Your gifts remove financial barriers for students like Stephanie, allowing them to focus on learning and persist through challenges.

"I am currently studying business and psychology with the goal of teaching women leadership skills and helping them develop the confidence to step fully into their power. I want to open doors for women in business. And it is a very special thing to receive this scholarship as a woman. It reminds me that I am not walking on this path alone and that there is a community of people and organizations that value what I believe in. I am forever grateful to be the student–a woman–you have chosen to support."

Thank you for believing in students like Stephanie!
