Western Day The Mueller family raised horses and cattle on this land, and homesteaders survived here. Celebrate the ranching history of Mueller and the old west with family-fun things to do and see from our Western Heritage! Pioneer crafts, cooking, leather work, live animals and more!

Special Events Planned at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument 

50th Anniversary Celebration at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument  is planned for Saturday, August 17, 2019, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm (Fee Free!)

Take part in a ceremony with keynote speakers, elected officials, and panel guests including people who lived here, people who fought to make a Monument, and people who worked here. Enjoy refreshments and community.
Daily Interpretive Program Schedule for Fossil Beds 

Ranger Guided Walk, Every Day 11:00 AM , 1 mile guided hike on the Petrified Forest Trail
 
Fossil Learning Lab, Every Day 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM , learn how scientists discover and research fossils in the Yurt
 
Hornbek Homestead, Saturdays and Sundays, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM , take a tour of an 1878 homestead
 
Interpretive Talk, Saturdays and Sundays,  10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, 30 minute interpretive presentation in the amphitheater

Ute Pass Historical Society offers FREE
guided tours of History Park and the Walking Tour of downtown Woodland Park every Saturday this summer, through August 31. The 90-minute Walking Tour of Downtown Woodland Park begins at 9:30 a.m., so please arrive at the UPHS Museum Center by 9:20 a.m.  The Museum Center is located at 231 E. Henrietta Avenue, next to the Woodland Park Public Library. Don't forget to bring plenty of water and a light sweater.
 
After the downtown walking tour, walk through the five buildings comprising History Park at 11:00 a.m. Exhibits and contents have recently been refashioned so "come again for the first time!"
