The Teller County Economic Forecast  features local experts from the public and private sectors brought together to discuss the Teller County economy. The Forecast features perspectives on recent trends in the real estate, financial, and construction industries, how they impact our local economy, and what the experts predict for the future. Understanding where we have been will help us plan for the future and how to get there.
You Are Invited to a PUBLIC INPUT MEETING for NE Teller County Fire Protection District Northeast Teller County Fire is in the early phases of developing a Master Plan that will evaluate current as well as future service needs for our community.  We are eager for citizen input regarding our services, resources/funding, as well as ideas regarding improvements for the future. 

We invite all interested individuals to join us at a Public Input Meeting to be held from 1-4pm, February 24th in our meeting room at Station 1, 1010 Evergreen Heights Dr. Woodland Park, CO. This meeting will be moderated by a trained outside facilitator associated with ESCI, a consulting firm hired to help us develop our Master Plan.

In order to provide adequate food/beverages and meeting materials, we ask that you register in advance to participate. Please contact Executive Assistant Sharon McCann-Kumpe at 719-687-1866 X 3 or to register. There is limited space in our meeting area so please register soon if you are interested in joining us.  We look forward to your input!

Activities Planned at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument

fossil beds Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is open year round. During February, the Monument is open every day of the week from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm.  Here are some of the activities taking place this month.

Saturday, February 24, A Winter Poetry Walk
, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.  Learn to write a nature poem.  Join volunteer interpreter Steven Veatch and discover your inner poet. The program will begin inside the visitor center with a brief discussion on poetry writing techniques.  Meet at the visitor center.  Participants will then explore part of the Monument while hiking on easy nature trails (less than 1 mile).

Sunday, February 25, Hike for Your Health, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.  Join park volunteer interpreters on a guided hike up to 3 miles in length.  This is a hike just for health.  Enjoy the healing and restorative powers that your national park area can provide. Dress in layers.  Be prepared for changing weather conditions. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Please be prepared with good foot gear. Weather permitting, call 719.748.3253 for up to date information on the hike. Meet at the visitor center.

Presented by The Gallery at Pikes Peak and on display February 16 - June 14, 2018, the Gallery at Pikes Peak is excited to continue to show the delightful photo art of Sheila Silfvenius. She has lived in Colorado for forty years and has a unique talent of capturing our Colorado wildlife and nature at its best.

Also showing is the striking photography of local artist Allan Studer. Through photography, Allan displays the beauty and drama that surrounds us. He has also escorted many photo safaris in Africa, and beginning in May will show striking images from that region.

Please take a few moments and visit the hospital gift shop which also showcases other locally made artwork, including greeting cards, jewelry, pottery, wooden and ceramic bowls and other gift items.  A portion of every sale is donated to the PPRMC Foundation.
