MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Rooted in faith, hope, and love, the pastors, church members, and staff in our Presbytery are asking difficult questions about the ever-changing religious landscape and how it impacts the “way we do church.” How can we better listen to how God calls us to meet the needs of our congregations and the neighborhoods they serve? How can we ensure we are not keeping things the same just to maintain the status quo? How can the Presbytery continue to serve a unique role in making a difference to the glory of God in the name of Jesus Christ?

As we grapple with these hard questions, we continue to rely on the support of each congregation to fund this ministry. We invite your Session to join us in discerning how God calls us to continue to be the connectional church, doing ministry in our congregations, neighborhoods, and the world.

What is Annual Commitment?

It is your congregation's contribution to the

Shared Mission and Ministry

in Foothills Presbytery

Take a look at the details of this email or click on the QR code to visit our website, and you will encounter a vivid picture of the way your Annual Commitment dollars are impacting our congregations, their communities, and the world.

Your investment in the mission and ministry of your presbytery makes a difference and creates a web of connections across upstate SC and beyond.

Our goal for 2024 is 100% Annual Commitment participation!

Every congregation received a mailing with a target giving amount.

We hope your Session will commit to financially supporting the mission and ministry of your presbytery in some way. Please contact our office if you have any questions about your congregation's annual commitment.

What is Per Capita?

Per capita is a set amount of money (apportionment) per member that congregations pay to the larger Presbyterian Church (USA).

It fuels the organization of "doing church" the Presbyterian way, which is quite different from independent congregational and bishop-based systems.

Per capita funding is how we mutually share the costs of coming together to discern the Spirit's leading for the future.

Your congregation sends the annual per capita funds to the Presbytery, and we send most of those funds to the PC(USA)General Assembly and the Synod of the South Atlantic (SC, GA, FL).

Only .45 cents out of the $12.25 per capita stays in the Presbytery.

2024 Per Capita:

General Assembly__ $ 9.80

Synod                   ____$ 2.00

Foothills                 ___ $ 0.45

Total                        __$12.25
