Hello!

As we enter this season of gratitude, we want to say thank you to all of our donors, volunteers, program participants, partners, and friends who make PILI’s mission possible year-round.

We’re especially excited as we approach our Annual Awards Luncheon on December 10th, PILI’s largest fundraising event of the year and a celebration of the very best in public interest law and pro bono. This year’s honorees represent the strength and compassion of Illinois’ legal community—championing equal access to justice for all. We hope you’ll join us in recognizing their extraordinary contributions and in supporting PILI’s ongoing work.

Meanwhile, applications are now open for Spring and Summer Semester Law Student Internships and Summer 2026 Graduate Fellowships. These opportunities provide law students and recent graduates the chance to gain meaningful public interest experience and help meet the growing need for legal assistance across Illinois.

We’re grateful for your partnership and wish you and yours a warm and happy Thanksgiving season!

Sincerely,

The Staff at PILI

Volunteer Spotlight

We are deeply grateful to the partners and volunteers who helped make our Illinois Free Legal Answers clinics possible as part of our Pro Bono Week celebration—including DePaul University College of Law and Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, State Farm, Wilkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, and Northern Illinois University College of Law.

Together, 56 volunteers answered 78 civil legal questions, transforming confusion into clarity and demonstrating how brief, flexible pro bono can create meaningful impact for Illinois residents statewide. Thank you to every organization and volunteer who made this possible.
