A Message from the Executive Director: Together, We’re Keeping the Spirit of Giving Alive

Dear Friends of Suited for Change,

As the holiday season begins, we’re feeling especially grateful for you—our incredible community of supporters who remind us what generosity and kindness truly mean.

In a world that can sometimes feel uncertain, your compassion shines bright. Because of you, women across our region are stepping into interviews with confidence, landing new jobs, and taking bold steps toward independence. Every suit, every coaching session, and every smile shared in our boutique tells a story of hope and possibility.

This time of year, we’re reminded that the magic of the holidays isn’t found in the hustle and bustle—it’s found in moments of connection and care. Thank you for believing in our mission and standing with the women we serve.

Wishing you warmth, joy, and peace this holiday season,

Liz Reinert

Executive Director

P.S. If you’re inspired by what you read, please consider making a gift—or share Beyond the Suit with a friend who believes in empowering women. Every action you take helps extend our reach and deepen our impact.

From Donor to Changemaker: Rocio's Story of Empowerment

Passing the Power Forward through Confidence and Compassion

Every donation tells a story — of courage, transformation, and hope. Recently, Rocio Da Silva donated a collection of professional garments to Suited for Change, accompanied by a letter that captured the true spirit of empowerment.

“Each dress, each suit, each pair of heels once held a version of me who refused to give up… As I pass them on to Suited for Change, I do so not as a donation but as a transfer of energy and confidence.” — Rocio Da Silva, The Living Frequency

Rocio’s gift also honors Marianne Wilson, a true advocate for women. Together, their story reminds us that when one woman rises, she lifts others with her.

A Special Note from Suited for Change's New Program Manager - Savannah Brown

Dear Suited for Change Family,

I hope you are well and enjoying the cool weather that fall is bringing us!

My name is Savannah Brown, and I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the new Program Manager at Suited for Change. It’s an honor to be joining this vibrant community of people who are deeply committed to supporting women in their personal and professional journeys.

A Toast to Confidence and Community: Suited for Change Shines at MMM Cheers 2025

On September 18, 2025, Suited for Change had the honor of being the featured nonprofit beneficiary of the 5th Annual MMM Cheers Event, hosted by Taft/Morris & Manning (formerly Morris, Martin, and Manning).

Each year, this beloved celebration uplifts a local nonprofit, and this year, the MMM team chose to empower women alongside us—making it an unforgettable evening of community, connection, and cheers.

Volunteer Spotlight: Sheila Keefe - Styling Confidence, One Woman at a Time

When you meet Sheila Keefe, you’ll see exactly why she’s the perfect fit for Suited for Change — she brings her energy, heart, and grace into the boutique every single time she volunteers.

A longtime volunteer since 2009, Sheila has continually shown her dedication, spirit, and genuine care for every client who walks through our doors.

Need proof? Just ask anyone who was in the boutique on one unforgettable day when Sheila styled not one, not two, but six clients — all between 10 AM and 2 PM!

Donor Spotlight: Wonderland Happy Hour Series

When you think of community, generosity, and a good time, few places capture that spirit quite like The Wonderland Ballroom. This year, Suited for Change had the pleasure of partnering with Rose Donna and Matthew McGovern, who graciously hosted a series of Happy Hour events — completely free of charge — to help us connect with our supporters and spread the word about our mission.

Partner Highlight: Empowering Women at the N Street Village Resource and Hygiene Fair

On October 23, 2025, Suited for Change had the honor of visiting the incredible women at N Street Village to introduce our Glam & Glow Series—our initiative focused on self-care, confidence, and beauty from the inside out!

Led by our amazing volunteer and Glam & Glow Lead, Michelle, the session offered an exciting hands-on experience with a variety of skincare and hygiene products, including snail mucin, moisturizers, face masks, and other essentials. The women had the opportunity to explore new routines, ask questions, and learn how small acts of self-care can make a big impact on how they feel and present themselves.
