 πŸ™ Gratitude Yoga Practice πŸ™

Consciously taking note of what you are grateful for and going out of your way to thank the people in your life can improve your mental and physical health. Try committing to a daily gratitude practice for a week or a month to see what shifts may occur.

Here are 5 ways to express gratitude through yoga:
  • Let your intention be, to appreciate every moment. Savor the breath in your lungs, the air on your skin, and the stretching sensation in your hamstrings.
  • Make your movements an offering. Remember how thankful you are whenever your hands are pressed together at your heart in Anjali Mudra or when you come to standing at the end of a Sun Salute.
  • Count your blessings instead of your breaths. It may be challenging to do for an entire practice session, but try it in one pose held for 5 breaths or longer thinking of one thing you are grateful for with each breath.
  • Focus on the positive. It's easy to get frazzled by what you perceive as shortcomings on the mat β€” maybe you're not as "flexible" as you used to be or an injury is inhibiting movement. Make a commitment to use your yoga practice to observe & delight in all the amazing things you CAN do and gratitude will spill over into other areas of your life as well.
  • Never skip Savasana! All the gratitude meditations in the world can't match the experience that comes when tired muscles finally get to melt into the floor. That's gratitude at its best.

CLASS SPOTLIGHT
Mixed Level Flow/Love Flow/Lunch Express Flow
These vinyasa flow classes offer mindful movement with the breath flowing from one pose into another pose. Classes feature sun salutations, standing and balance poses, back bends, hip openers, forward folds, seated postures, inversions with meditation and/or savasana. All levels are welcome for Mixed and Lunch Express while variations will be given for more advanced poses. Love Flow is geared toward students with some experience. Lunch Express flow is a 45-min β€œlight” flow.

NEW TEACHER SPOTLIGHTS

We happily welcome MaryAnn Knowles to our teaching staff! MaryAnn completed her 200 hour yoga teacher certification with Carla Olla and Rhinebeck Yoga & Love Yoga Center in October 2020. She began her yoga journey in 2017 after retiring from sales management, with summers spent in Michigan and winters in Florida. She says: "Finding Love Yoga Center and the amazing community of mentors and friends has truly been a gift."  She and her husband Tom have 3 sons, a granddaughter and a handsome dog named Pierre.

We're happy to announce Debby Frankel will be joining our LYC staff! Debby took her first yoga class with her mom as a child and loved it. She began taking classes and playing with it over the years and eventually wanting to learn more. She completed her 200 hr teacher training in 2020 with teacher, Carla Olla of Rhinebeck Yoga Center and mentor Lahoma Nachtrab of Love Yoga Center. 

Debby looks forward to bring more LOVE to the mat and she's is excited and open to learning, growing and expanding and just BEING with others. She is so grateful to all who share time and energy to make the world a better place and also for her teachers, their teachers and all future teachers in everyone!

  • Cancel In-Studio reservations 12 hours in advance for avoid penalty
  • Bring only what you need: mat, props, water to enhance your practice (Available for purchase at the studio. No loaners/rentals)
