Tutor Highlight!

Smart City Tutors provides families with quality instruction from experienced tutors. Our tutors specialize in a range of subjects, as well as offering general academic support, executive functioning guidance, and test preparation.

This month we are highlighting Alex Appel. Alex is a native New Yorker whose background in math and music brings the perfect combination of left and right brain to math tutoring. Alex has a bachelor’s degree in Music with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Miami, and a master’s degree in Music from NYU.
He has taught in public schools in the New York area, working with students from elementary school through high school. He also tutors upper-level math, helping high school and college students understand homework assignments and prepare for tests. Alex is passionate about not only helping students succeed, but in helping them enjoy the learning process along the way.
