Community art exhibit
In honor of Black History Month, artist Laura Di Piazza (Development and Communications Director at JAM) displays prints of collages of and hand-lettered quotes by Black American Leaders, including Shirley Chisholm, June Jordan, James Baldwin, and Octavia Butler. The exhibit will be up through 3/26/25.

Watch director Vera Drew in conversation with Jordyn Fitch of the White River Indie Film Festival (WRIF) selection committee, in a talkback after WRIF's secret screening of Drew’s then in "legal limbo" film The People's Joker. Drew’s self proclaimed favorite secret festival stop was WRIF, which championed the film to uplift marginalized voices.

Drop in every 4th Tuesday of the month and play video and board games at JAM — free and welcoming to all! We’ll provide the games and consoles, but you may wish to bring your own controller if you have one. Participants must be at least 14 years old or accompanied/supervised by an adult.

Interactive art exhibit

On First Friday, JAM invites you to fold doves and cranes with artists Mona Shiber and JuPong Lin that will be added to the Peacebirds project to honor every life flown too soon. Lin will read aloud poetry from her play, “Phoenix in the Holy Land” which tells the story of three ceasefire activists involved in a town’s fight to end the assault on Palestinian life.

Adult media learning
4 Sessions April 5 - 26

Discover the exciting potential of drones! Each session will feature a classroom portion and a field trip where participants get hands-on experience piloting. You can practice flying your own drone or fly JAM’s DJI Mini. Participants will leave this course with a vision of how drones can address community goals. Designed for adult students (16+). Instructor: Ben Fletcher

Youth media arts camps
July 21 - 25 & July 28 - August 1

High schoolers will run the set on a two-week intensive film shoot – from pre-production shot lists, casting, and set construction, to on-set responsibilities of camera operation, sound recording, acting, & directing, the film intensive covers all aspects of the production process– producing a finished short film by camp’s end. Directed by Chico Eastridge.

High schoolers will dive deep into the world of animation, exploring advanced techniques and tools such as the 12 principles of animation, arcs, squash and stretch and more. Campers will explore the multitudes of animation types including hand drawn, paper-cut, and claymation to find the form that tickles their fancy! Directed by Noah Mauchly and Jordyn Fitch.

The Briggs Opera House welcomes community arts groups to the historic theater in White River Junction, VT. JAM partners with Shaker Bridge Theater to manage rental reservations for available dates, with optional media production services when available. | |
