Cold Springs, Nev. – The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) has scheduled a consumer session Tuesday, March 12, to hear public comment regarding Great Basin Water Co.’s (GBWC’s) application to adjust water rates in its Cold Springs division.
If approved by the PUCN as filed in Docket No. 18-11014, GBWC’s overall revenue requirement would increase by $625,122, or approximately 59.15 percent. GBWC states that an average residential customer bill would increase from $22.48 to $31.97 per month.
GBWC’s proposal would increase the monthly residential basic service charge for water an estimated 39 percent. In the two main residential meter classes, the utility’s proposal would increase the current basic service charge from $11 to $15.30. The residential monthly commodity charge for consumption of 5,000 gallons or less would increase from 95 cents to $1.69 per 1,000 gallons. The residential monthly commodity charge for consumption of 5,001 gallons to 175,000 gallons would increase from $1.60 to $2.86 per 1,000 gallons.
Based on the evidence presented in the case, the PUCN may adopt rates which are higher, lower, or the same as the rates proposed by GBWC.
The consumer meeting is scheduled for:

18235 Cody Ct.
