At BEVS, we are committed to continuously enhancing the quality of care we provide to our patients. In recent months, we’ve introduced several exciting upgrades to our hospital and services, all designed to improve diagnostic accuracy, streamline emergency care, and ensure around-the-clock access to critical medical resources. From cutting-edge imaging technologies to expanded lab capabilities and more efficient emergency diagnostics, these positive changes reflect our dedication to delivering the best possible outcomes for pets and peace of mind for their owners.
|
New CT - Higher Slice Count, Better Resolution: The new 64-slice CT scanner represents a significant advancement in our diagnostic capabilities. With a higher slice count, we can capture more detailed images in a shorter amount of time.
| |
This is crucial when diagnosing complex conditions like tumors, fractures, or neurological issues, which require precise imaging for accurate treatment plans. The enhanced resolution allows us to detect smaller abnormalities that might not be visible on standard imaging devices, leading to earlier diagnoses and improved treatment outcomes. The faster scanning speed also reduces the amount of time animals need to be under sedation, minimizing stress and risk for the patient.
Cageside Ultrasound - Quicker Assessment for Emergent Diagnostics: A cageside ultrasound provides rapid, real-time imaging without needing to move the patient to a dedicated imaging suite. This is especially important in emergency situations where every minute counts. By performing ultrasound directly at the patient's side, we can quickly assess critical conditions such as fluid accumulation, organ abnormalities, or masses.
| |
|
This capability is particularly useful in stabilizing patients who are in shock or too unstable to be transported within the hospital. It enables the veterinary team to make fast decisions regarding surgical intervention, further diagnostic procedures, or supportive care.
|
Dedicated Lab Technicians on Weekends: Expanding the lab services with more diagnostic equipment enhances BEVS’ ability to quickly and accurately diagnose a wide range of conditions. This capability is essential in emergencies where immediate lab data can guide critical treatment decisions, such as in cases of poisoning, infections, or organ failure.
| |
By also having dedicated lab technicians available on weekends, we can ensure that our diagnostic capabilities remain robust 24/7. Often, weekends are the busiest times for emergency veterinary services, and having skilled personnel focused solely on running tests ensures that results are processed efficiently, improving the overall speed of care. This dedicated team also reduces the burden on other staff, allowing them to focus on patient care and emergency procedures without being delayed by lab-related tasks.
Meet our New Team Members
We are thrilled to welcome several new team members, further strengthening our ability to provide exceptional care. With the addition of skilled veterinarians and support staff, our hospital is better equipped than ever to handle complex cases, emergencies, and specialized treatments. Each new member brings a wealth of experience, compassion, and dedication to our mission of delivering the highest standard of care to every pet, around the clock. These new faces are not only expanding our expertise but also helping us continue to offer prompt, personalized care to our patients and their families.
