God Bless Us, Every One - Looking for Tiny Tim and Cratchit Kids

(from Therese Porter)

We are still in need of adorable moppets!

One of the joys of "A Christmas Carol" is watching the young performers bring the charming and poignant roles of Tiny Tim and his Cratchit siblings to life. We will be auditioning for and understudy for Tiny Tim (who will be needed at least five days including all of the three day weekend), Belinda Cratchit and children to play Cratchit children as well as Ignorance and Want from the end of the Ghost of Christmas Present scene  (will be needed at least five days including all of the three day weekend)

Auditions will be held in Room 114 at approximately 2:45 this weekend after the workshop period has concluded.

If you and your child are interested in participating in The Book without whose existence we would not be doing this, there is no better preparation than to read the book and watch an adaptation or two. Children interested in performing these roles must be comfortable being on stage and accustomed to theatrical environments.

Although this year we hope to have more of a Cratchit children presence in the streets, actual stage time is limited. Your child should have something else to do at the Fair the rest of the time.

If you have questions feel free to address them to Therese Porter, Director of A Christmas Carol at

Oceana High School Report Card - Please Read

(from Stephen Johnson)

Dear Cast Members, I had a report from the principal that the teacher in Room 212 complained that desks were not put back in order, furniture was moved, and student papers were moved around. I must confess that the security team and I were a bit overwhelmed Sunday because it was a substitute custodian who needed our help with collecting the bags from all the trash cans, folding the cafeteria tables, securing all the doors, etc. So we may have missed getting that room in perfect shape. But I should say that moving student things - books, papers, posters, etc. is a really big no-no. Please work around such items. If your workshop moves furniture, please return it to place at the end of the workshop. All it takes is a few more complaints and we could lose the school. And it would really help us if you could vacate the room right at 5:30; the longer you are there, the longer we have to stay past 7:30.

On a positive note, you generously donated $630 for the Oceana School Fund this past weekend, and if participants who haven't yet donated can match that amount, we can reach the amount we had last year of $1200. Thank you all. Steve Johnson Dickens Fair School Liaison
