Poudre School District update | Thursday, October 29, 2020
Thank YOU for doing your part!
It’s hard to believe we are in our second week of all students learning in Phase 3. Thank you, to all staff, students and families, for following the health protocols designed to keep everyone as safe as possible. Partnership is more important now than it ever has been before, and we are grateful for the collaboration we are seeing and experiencing this school year.
WATCH NOW: Celebrating the recently named Gary Bamford Elementary School
On a recent chilly Friday afternoon, a small group came together to celebrate at the site of the future Bamford Elementary School, located in the southeast portion of Poudre School District and the first PSD school to be within the City of Loveland. The PSD Board of Education recently voted to name the school after the late Gary Bamford, a longtime and beloved PSD employee.

Protocols are in place to limit the spread of COVID-19, in accordance with state and county public health department guidance for schools. PSD will update protocols as state and county guidance changes.
COVID-19 School Status and Information web page
PSD will post schools’ current operating statuses, as well as information when cases trigger a classroom quarantine or school closure, following state and county public health guidance. Please note: Information about individual cases is NOT sent to the entire district or the entire respective school community; instead, there is direct communication with the parents/guardians of students with possible exposure and those identified as close contacts. For parents/guardians who do NOT receive communication about a case, it is because their student is not believed to have had close contact with a positive individual. Read more >>

Love public education? Want to support PSD students, staff?
The Poudre School District Foundation, a nonprofit that supports the school district, is currently recruiting board members. The Foundation is looking for people who are passionate about education, have a variety of skills, and who represent the diverse communities across PSD.
PSD would also like to give the PSD Foundation a huge shout-out! Recently, the Foundation gave PSD donations totaling more than $15,000 that will go to support the district’s COVID-19 response efforts, including providing reliable internet access for students to access remote education, emergency family relief and more. Partnerships are key, and PSD is fortunate to have a long-standing relationship with the PSD Foundation.

Mental health matters: Bring your WHOLE human to work, school
Let’s be real - these are unprecedented and difficult times, and it is normal to struggle with a positive mindset. Under duress, we can become self-protective, avoidant, negative, or hold back in order to be stoic, professional, and “strong.” Despite that, we encourage you to think about what it would be like to bring your best, authentic, humanity to work and school. How would your workplace, your classroom and your life be different? What would be the impact on the people you teach, work alongside, and lead? What does bringing your best human look like for you? Consider these ideas to bring your best human to work (or to your families, friends, hobbies, and everyday lives). Read more of this week’s update here >>
