Poudre School District update | Thursday, January 14, 2021
Celebrating our experiences
We have seen so many examples of kindness and resilience this school year. That instills in us such pride for our PSD communities. Although things look different than they ever did before, our connectedness and resolve are unwavering. Thank you, all, for your part in that. Here’s to an enriching second semester.
Educators and staff across Poudre School District make concerted and careful efforts to create the conditions in which students thrive. We want to introduce Tanner Arkin, Fossil Ridge High School tight end/defensive lineman, who shares how football has shaped his journey in PSD.

PSD Mission Moment: Fossil Ridge student designs, 3D prints table dividers
15-year-old Nick Pravlik, from Fossil Ridge High School, designed 3D-printed table dividers to keep the dividers evenly separated and upright on the tables of classrooms at O'Dea Core Knowledge Elementary. This tool helps support learning at PSD while keeping students socially distanced. O'Dea Elementary is proud to have purchased these table dividers from Nick!
Meet our wonderful teachers, on #TeacherTuesday
We have so many wonderful educators in PSD. Every Tuesday, we will showcase a new teacher.
Meet Michelle. She currently teaches high school at PSD Virtual, and previously taught at Rocky Mountain High School (@rmhslobos) and Preston Middle School (@prestonstem).⠀
“I have taught all disciplines of life and physical science as well as, math and health. Fun Fact: I've had a rare opportunity to study the tundra soil in Alaska and have enjoyed bringing Brain Awareness Week to multiple schools in PSD for many years. I'm everything geeky and love science.”
Mental Health: Let's juice this lemon!
Few would disagree that 2020 was a lemon and probably not anyone’s favorite year. You might have noticed that 2020 became 2021 without many differences. We still have lemons (pandemic, fears, and uncertainty). Now what? We can choose what to do with those lemons. Read this week’s full update on the Mental Health Resources web page >>

Technology transition from remote to in-person learning
We ask for parent/guardian help to assist their students in restarting their devices at home prior to returning to school so necessary updates can take place. This step helps ensure devices can be used quickly and effectively once students are back in classrooms. For more information on Quarter 3 2020-2021, PSD Tech Troubleshooting Tips and FAQs visit the PSD Community Tech Portal. Thank you for your continued patience and grace as we work to support students in using their technology.
