Dear JPB Friends and Family,

I write this holy season because I believe in the potential of every JPB student.

Each embarks on a daring journey of transformation, and we have the privilege of nurturing their trajectories of growth. They build on their successes, just as Jerusalem Peacebuilders (JPB) draws on a decade of pioneering excellence that unites alumni, volunteers, and mentors with today’s leaders-in-the-making.

Inside and outside the Holy Lands, we equip high school teachers and youth to be leaders and peacebuilders as only JPB can, through experiential education, dialogue, travel opportunities, and religious literacy. At each step, alumni, volunteers, and educators challenge them to apply their talents for the greater good of all. From law to medicine, from inter-communal healing to education and technology, our graduates discover the power to advance change far and wide.

The same is true for your holiday gift to JPB.

In 2011, JPB began with a single summer peace institute for eleven Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Thanks to you, we led 45 peace education programs in the Holy Lands, England, and the United States during 2022. In schools, colleges, summer camps, and houses of worship, JPB worked with teachers, youth, and concerned citizens to overcome seemingly immutable histories of violence, fear, and generational trauma with trust, learning, and communal awareness.

This year, JPB directly impacted 4,500 people. The 40 Israeli high school teachers, whom we trained, shaped 4,500 more. To support these 9,000 courageous Israeli Jews and Palestinian Arabs who forged determination out of the loss and isolation of COVID, combated extremism with love, and confronted prejudice with compassion is to behold the great lights of Christmas and Hanukkah on earth.

Rarely can a gift change the course of a life. But it happens every day at Jerusalem Peacebuilders.
