Greentree Community Church
Live. Grow. Plant. Renew.

Dear GTCC Spiritual Family,

Yesterday, Monday, November 26, 2012 Greentree Community Church waived all contingencies on 100 Kirkwood Place. The seller agreed to a closing date of December 21, 2012. In less than a month, GTCC should own 100 Kirkwood Place!

Here are some details of how everything is coming together:

  1. As of today, GTCC has $1.49 million dollars in donations and rental income from 440 North Kirkwood. Our loan requires $1.85 million in cash at closing on December 21. If we continue to give in faith, I believe the remaining 360K will come in.
  2. In October, members of GTCC authorized the Session to sell 440 North Kirkwood. Our strategy was to patiently wait for an offer that would net the church at least $900K profit. We estimated 2-4 months for a strong buyer to materialize.
  3. Currently GTCC has a contract for the sale of 440 North Kirkwood that will provide proceeds in excess of 1.1 million dollars! If the sale occurs after December 21 when we purchase the new property, our bank will provide a small bridge loan to cover any temporary shortfall.

We are grateful for the prayers and financial gifts of all who have participated. The trek to find and develop a home for worship and ministry will continue to demand that each of us respond in faith. I am confident in God's good providence and look forward to every step of this journey with each of you!

We make our plans prayerfully as best we can, but it is the LORD who directs our steps. Our trust and hope has been in him and we offer him humble thanks for leading us toward permanence and growth in this community. Paul's words to the Ephesians are highly appropriate on this occasion:

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church in in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21

If you have questions regarding any of these details, do not hesitate to contact me or Michael Porter: or Also, Michael and I will be at the GTCC office during lunch this Thursday, November 29, Noon - 1 PM, if you would like to stop by and chat in person.
