The manager of the PP killing place quickly called the police when we arrived, believing our team is violating some government orders. Four squad cars show up...one for each of us.
But God has His own plans. The officers went into the PP building, came back out and told us to have a nice morning.
I decided that if the government allows the abortion centers to stay in business, then our first amendment is still in business too. So we were prepared to go to the slammer for the cause of the Kingdom.
Why, some may ask?
In Matthew 22, Jesus said,
"Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's." In Acts 5, Peter declares, "We ought to obey God rather than men." This can create a dilemma.
Some would say that in Romans 13 we are told to "
be subject to the governing authorities." To many that means to obey the government without question. I disagree. I submit to the authorities, yet remind them that if their directives would be against God's commandments and they ordered us to cease from trying to
"rescue those being led to the slaughter"
hen I would be compelled
"to obey God rather than men."
So far the authorities have seen that "
for conscience sake" our team is willing to give our lives to save the lost and have allowed our outreach.
In other parts of the country some abolitionists have been threatened with arrest. God is watching over those who will boldly stand in the gap, even if it means imprisonment.
Below, attorney Gregory Goehring, Project Truth team member, stands with me ready to reach out to those going into the center. The officers were cool even though it doesn't look like it.
