We Didn't See That Coming!
One day Project Truth is on the Spring tour having a powerful impact on the lives of thousands of college and high school students, and the next day we are told to "stand down" as the nation and the world are turned upside down.

It is true that throughout the history of mankind there have been disrupting events that seemed to put the brakes on society for a time. Here we are experiencing one such moment in time and there are many lessons to be learned from this disruption.
God's Word is our strength and the worship of God during this time will get us through another monumental event.

Here is a great worship song that ministers to me so much. I share it with you. Just click on the arrow in the photo.
The manager of the PP killing place quickly called the police when we arrived, believing our team is violating some government orders. Four squad cars show up...one for each of us.

But God has His own plans. The officers went into the PP building, came back out and told us to have a nice morning.

I decided that if the government allows the abortion centers to stay in business, then our first amendment is still in business too. So we were prepared to go to the slammer for the cause of the Kingdom.

Why, some may ask?

In Matthew 22, Jesus said, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's." In Acts 5, Peter declares, "We ought to obey God rather than men." This can create a dilemma.

Some would say that in Romans 13 we are told to " be subject to the governing authorities." To many that means to obey the government without question. I disagree. I submit to the authorities, yet remind them that if their directives would be against God's commandments and they ordered us to cease from trying to "rescue those being led to the slaughter" (Proverbs 24), t hen I would be compelled "to obey God rather than men."

So far the authorities have seen that " for conscience sake" our team is willing to give our lives to save the lost and have allowed our outreach.

In other parts of the country some abolitionists have been threatened with arrest. God is watching over those who will boldly stand in the gap, even if it means imprisonment.

Below, attorney Gregory Goehring, Project Truth team member, stands with me ready to reach out to those going into the center. The officers were cool even though it doesn't look like it.
Matt and Beth challenge two women going into the darkness.
Below, I joined Jared in Fresno who is witnessing to this woman outside the "Family Planning Associates" killing place. Jared owns Fresno Carpet Care and has taken a hit during this time. Even though his business is almost wiped out, Jared is a faithful messenger each week at the abortion center.

This woman brought her friend to the center after she had seen an ultrasound of her baby the day before. There is such a troubled spirit in our world because people just don't seem to care about the wrath of God. Not much is ever proclaimed about God's wrath these days. The friend did listen and the seeds of truth were given.
This young man was waiting for his girlfriend and was willing to listen to the Gospel and take " One Heartbeat Away" to read later (in his hand).

I talked him into texting her while she was inside to try to talk her out.

She came out without having the abortion but did not want to talk to me. I hope she changed her mind.

You can see the hospital in the background where the Virus Center is located in Fresno. I was glad the wind was blowing the other way.
Above, I spoke to this mother bringing her young daughter in to get birth control pills. The mother knew it was wrong yet was willing to sell her daughter's soul to the highest bidder. I summoned her to see the judgment seat of Christ and to prepare to answer to God for " leading her daughter to destruction." Her first words were, "I believe in God, BUT..." These words should NEVER come from the lips of a follower of Christ. It is my hope that this mom will come to her senses and escape the snare of the devil.
Alameda College days before the "Stand Down."
Above, a philosophy professor came out to encourage us! "MIRACLE"

That's right. Our team was stunned and grateful for his insight and suggestions for changing the world.

Below, Alex calms down an irate student with logic and reason. She eventually shakes his hand and walked away with some pebbles of truth in her shoes.

The college seemed quiet and not many students on campus.

But there were divine appointments during the two days and Lee Haskel continues to share the Gospel with those God places in front of him.
Stand Down!
My oldest son served two tours in the Middle East, trying to rescue Afghans from terrorists invading their land. He shared with me some stories that very much apply to the current situation going on in America right now.

His platoon would go on missions and then come back for a few days' rest in the barracks. Then they would go out on a mission again.

My son told me the most difficult part of the tour was when they would be pumped up and ready for a mission...only to be told to "Stand Down!" Many of their missions were stopped and put off or canceled. When they did go on a mission, their team was more than ready for the trouble ahead.

My son said the worst part of being on a mission was having to stop for whatever reason. He said that sometimes the reason for a pause was from questionable decisions in leadership, while other times the Intel was clear and the "stand down" was justified. Either way there were lessons to learn.

I can certainly understand the struggles in some respects. This world event that has shut down our Spring Tour was like a punch in the gut. I admit I am still working through the irritation and frustration of having been ready for battles only to be stopped from the mission.
I t is my hope and prayer that at this time in history the followers of Christ will do an inventory on where we were four months ago and where we should be in our commitment to the walk of faith during this earth-shaking event. For many we are right on course, while for others this is a wake-up call for what is important.
I want to be stronger in my resolve to share the Gospel with the lost. They could be gone "in the twinkling of an eye." I don't want to be lulled into thinking there is plenty of time. It is written, "But concerning the times and the seasons...the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. For when they say 'Peace and safety!' then comes sudden destruction... But you brethren are not in darkness...You are all sons of light and sons of the day ...Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation (our battle fatigues) . For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other..." I Thessalonians 5.
One way of working through the turmoil of the day is by driving on a back road on the way home from visiting my awesome grandchildren.

There is a famous photo of a church with Mt. Shasta in the background. I knew the general area where it might be so I ventured through the countryside north of Mt. Shasta, one of the most beautiful mountains on the earth.

I found the little country church in a village called Little Shasta a few miles off of I-5 in Northern California. You have to be going there to get there.

It was a perfect day and the setting was peaceful and serene. So I got out of my truck, took some pictures, and spent some quality time praising the Lord for this moment.
Please pray for our team as we stand in the gap at the clinics and prepare for the hopeful return to some normalcy. I am setting up the Fall tour and some summer events that were planned...all of this based on our President overcoming the attacks on his leadership and our country.
Thank you for standing with me
