What to Know: Annual Meeting

GOHA Annual Meeting

September 21, 2022 at 8 p.m.

Sherwood Center

(3740 Old Lee Highway next to Van Dyck Park)

Every community member is encouraged to attend the Great Oaks Annual Meeting! This is a great opportunity to hear what the Board has been doing for Great Oaks over the past year, and what initiatives are planned for the upcoming year.

Community members will also have the opportunity to vote on who should fill four open positions on the HOA Board.  We hope to see you there!

Summer Festivities at the Pool!

The retaining wall at the community pool was repaired in July and looks great! We are glad that families and neighbors were able to enjoy the pool for the last half of summer. The pool will close for the season after Monday, September 5.

Let's Have One Last Splash!

How should GOHA use the new retaining wall?
Paint a mural on it
Make it a chalk play area for kids
Decorate it with plants
Do nothing at all - it looks fine as is!

Safety Alert: Stop Signs Added

Have you noticed the new stop signs in the neighborhood? A three-way stop sign was added to the intersection of Great Oaks Way and Devilwood Court to help make the area safer for neighbors walking and kids playing. Please adhere to this new traffic flow.

Street Lights to be Replaced

The GOHA Board voted to replace all the street lights in the neighborhood with LED lighting and a decorative shoebox design offered by Dominion Energy. These new lights are estimated to be installed in Spring 2023.

Annual Halloween Party

Continuing the success from previous years, the Social Committee will host a Halloween party for the entire neighborhood. Details will be coming soon, but please look forward to festivities such as a costume parade, pizza party, decorating contests, and traditional trick-or-treating.
