President's Message

Hello, Friends,

One of the most important parts of building a strong community is listening.

As we continue into this year, I’ve been reflecting on how we grow—not just as individual fundraisers, but as a chapter. Growth doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we take the time to understand one another’s experiences, needs, and perspectives.

That’s why you’ll begin to see more opportunities to share your feedback with AFP Dallas. Whether through quick polls, micro-surveys, or conversations at events, we want to hear from you. What’s working well? Where can we improve? What would make your membership even more valuable?

Your voice matters. It helps shape the programs we offer, the resources we prioritize, and the direction we take as a chapter. We are committed to creating an experience that reflects the needs of our diverse membership—from large organizations to small shops, and everyone in between.

Listening is more than gathering input—it’s about building trust. It’s about ensuring that every member feels seen, heard, and valued.

So this month, I encourage you to take a moment to participate, starting with the poll in this newsletter and continuing with other micro-surveys you may see via email throughout the year. Your insight will help us continue to strengthen this community and elevate the experience for all.

Thank you for being part of AFP Greater Dallas and for helping us grow together.

Warm regards,

Evan White

Ethics and You

What Does That Really Mean?

Are you an ethical professional fundraiser? Of course you are, until you are not, and maybe you don't even realize you've crossed a line. We will present and have a conversation about the updated AFP Code of Ethics and use case studies provided by AFP Global to illustrate the good, the bad, the hazy middle, and the consequences of sanctions. Copies of the Code will be provided as well as a link for more resources for members on the AFP Global website.
