President's Message

One of the things I love most about being a professional fundraiser is getting to work with a wide variety of people. From clients, board members and donors to program and administrative staff, it takes all kinds of people to make the world a better place.

And it is a point of pride for me that many of us, as AFP members, better understand how the principles of IDEA - inclusion, diversity, equity, and access - need to influence all our decision-making, planning, programming and engagement.

The Greater Dallas Chapter represents almost 300 members of the nearly 30,000 AFP International members in over 230 chapters throughout the world.

As an association we value individual and collective differences in identities, perspectives, traditions, abilities, and life experiences.

So this February, as we celebrate Valentine’s Day and Black History Month, I invite you to 1) invite someone to attend an AFP event, 2) join or renew your AFP membership, and 3) talk us up in your professional circles!

I pray each of you has a successful month – no matter the metric of success!

With gratitude,

Alicia Peoples, JD

President, Greater Dallas AFP
