President's Message
New beginnings…
“Strong communities are born out of individuals being their best selves.” - Leanne Betasamosake Simpson
It is an honor to serve as your 2022 AFP Greater Dallas President and I look forward to connecting with you this year to offer educational programs and networking events, share resources, and welcome suggestions for topics and speakers. Special appreciation and thanks to our 2021 Greater Dallas AFP Board and committee members led by Paul A. Dunne, CFRE. It has been a joy to serve alongside him and I am ever grateful for his friendship and counsel. The 2022 board of directors looks forward to advancing the work done last year and sharing our progress with you.
A new calendar year brings us many opportunities, while we are still cognizant of the challenges ahead. As professional fundraisers, we tackle challenges head on. Our work does not stop. Together, we remain hopeful and optimistic. We find new ways to navigate, new ideas to launch, and new strategies to implement.
The road ahead is promising and full of exciting challenges and new possibilities. We invite to you to build new relationships by getting engaged by attending monthly AFP events, including opportunities provided by our partners in philanthropy, the Dallas Council of Charitable Gift Planners.

We look forward to welcoming you to our first AFP Dallas Chapter educational program of the year on Wednedsday, January 26th. Click here to register for "Burnout, Retention, and Recruitment During Trying Times" with Michelle Baehl, Diversity Officer and Director for Development and External Affairs Staff Development at SMU. In light of the recent COVID surge, our meeting on January 26th will be VIRTUAL.
Wishing everyone a very happy and prosperous 2022!
