Shattering Glass Ceilings: Women in Leadership

Women control consumer spending power but hold very little of the consumer decision making, making female leadership more important than ever in today's economy. Roslyn Dawson Thompson of the Dallas Women's Foundation will draw from her personal experience of advocating for and encouraging women to affect positive change in their communities by seeking out leadership positions. Attendees will take away strategies for women to position themselves for executive leadership opportunities.

Roslyn Dawson Thompson is President and CEO of the Dallas Women's Foundation, the largest regional women's foundation of the 120 women's funds worldwide. She is also the chair of the board of the Women's Funding Network, which represents women's foundations globally. A lifelong advocate for women and girls, she moved in 2011 from a 25-year career owning a national marketing communications firm to leading Dallas Women's Foundation, where she had been a volunteer leader and donor since its inception. The Foundation has undertaken ambitious strategic initiatives to impact women's economic security and women's leadership through research, grants, advocacy and gendered investment of assets. Dawson Thompson serves on the executive committee of Prosperity Together, an initiative of 27 public women's foundations that have committed $100 million to advance women's economic security in the U.S. over the next five years.

Our year is off to a strong start. Our January presenter, Larry Weil, provided tangible tools for building a successful sponsorship program at your organization. Last month, Jennifer Bartkowski, CEO of Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas, presented a dynamic program on transforming your organization to support fundraising success.
 
We are honored to host Rosalyn Dawson Thompson, President & CEO of the Dallas Women's Foundation, on Wednesday, March 22nd, presenting "Shattering Glass Ceilings: Women in Leadership." Stay tuned for an incredible line up of luncheon speakers throughout the year. You won't want to miss hearing from a diverse group of experts.
