A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal. - Steve Maraboli
I recently came across this quote and couldn’t help but think of my friends in the Greater Dallas AFP Chapter. You all make it possible for each of your organizations to apply compassion. As we recently survived “SNOVID 2021”, I was encouraged to see so many of our different organization join together to make a compassionate difference in the DFW metroplex. I love the width and breadth of our chapter. Whether it is feeding the homeless, fighting for justice, healing the hurting, rescuing an animal, educating students, implementing water wells in desperate countries or any of the missions of our membership organizations, the AFP Greater Dallas Chapter membership is intently dispensing compassion. Even though your formal title might have the word “development” in it, our real purpose is helping our organizations to be successfully compassionate. Remember that even though you might be somewhat removed from the front lines, the work of your organization is dependent on how successfully you can connect your supporters to their heart of compassion. So remember that compassion is not just something you have, it is something you must share.

March 24, 2021 Virtual Program
Digital Distinction: How to Stay True to Your Brand Amidst the Chaos
Everyone is shouting these days on every available media platform. We can all easily find something to be enraged about with every passing calendar day. I'll talk about how to know when it's time to speak up and when it's time to stay quiet for the sake of your brand.
Minda Corso is a digital communications manager for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Michigan. In this role, she is responsible for hands-on execution of integrated digital marketing and communications strategies to support organizational as well as internal and external communications goals and objectives. She works with the communications team to identify, develop, and execute digital marketing and communications tactics across the WKKF digital ecosystem. She collaborates with organizational peers and teams to elevate the foundation's strategies, programmatic priorities, and relationships with priority audiences, including internal staff, grantees and external stakeholders. Previously, Minda managed social media accounts for @JebBush, the Foundation for Excellence in Education (@ExcelinEd), the Air Force Medical Service, and Life Outreach International.
Members and non-members welcome, discounted rates for young professionals age 30 and under.
